Many of you know that Wendy Rule's Denver performance was postponed due to a traveling VISA problem and she was returned to Australia earlier this month. It looks like the issue is being handled and her return to the US is upon us! Those of you who previously purchased tickets to the Midsummer Night Fairy Festival can use those same tickets to attend this event!
The date for her Denver performance looks like Friday, August 13th! Save the date and stay tuned for confirmation and more details regarding this event!
Now, the personal newsletter blog for April Hoy. I promise to excite or infuriate. I will never apologize.

Design Studio is MOVING!
I am so excited to announce that I am moving my business out of my apartment and becoming a member of the Guildwerks Artists Collective Warehouse! This is an incredible space that will facilitate larger classes, but also puts me in a wonderful workspace with lots of amazing creatives!
I have an old history with the property itself, which is located on York Street between 38th and 40th Avenues. Many years ago I was part of a CoHousing group called August Green that was offered the York Street property by the City of Denver for $1. We toured this property many times and spent over a year developing a plan to create a community of creatives at this site. In the end, we could not pull it off due to the $1 million in abatement required because this was a Superfund site that had never been cleaned up. But, here we are 15 years later and I'm going to be doing exactly what I set out to in the very same location! It's a thrilling day for me! I love synchronicity!
So thanks to Jim Barter and Lynn Strutton for having such a great vision and working toward creating such great community space!
I should be completely moved over into the new space by end of next week!

Sewing Machine for Sale!
One of my students is having a life change issue and needs to sell her sewing machine. It's a Janome machine that is less than 2 years old. I know she has not used it a whole lot and I think it came with a full set of specialty feet (she's checking on that now). She paid $500 for it about 1-1/2 years ago and would like to get $400 for it. If you are interested, please email me at: info@aprilenchanted.com
Lovely corset fabrics!
An exciting move!
The Aprilenchanted Design Studio is getting ready to become a part of something bigger than itself and meld with the minds and talents of numerous amazing people! Stay tuned for details on the move and the incredible opportunities this move will facilitate! That's all I'm saying for now until details are final and stuff is moved into the space!
But, I'm so excited!!!!!

These are hard to find fabrics and will go quickly. I would love to customize something pretty for you!

Hand dyed silks!
Here are some lovely hand dyed silks I have available that are prewashed and ready to be cut into some summery flowing garment just for you! I have 8 yards each of these two fabrics, so it would be possible to create a bias cut dress or a full circle skirt out of either of them. Possibly even a pair of wings or bellydance veils. To your liking!

To my dear fans and friends in Colorado
I’m very sad to have to let you know that I’m unable to perform at this weekend’s Midsummer Fairy Ball. Unfortunately there was a problem with my visa when I tried to enter America last Thursday, and I was returned home to Australia on the next flight in order to sort it out. You can imagine how devastated I was!
I can assure you, as soon as the visa is sorted out, I’ll be on flying right back! In the mean time, I encourage those of you who have bought tickets to this weekend’s Fairy Ball to go along and have a wonderful time. There will be great music from the pagan rock group Heartbeat, as well as vendors and other surprises. Those of you who keep your tickets will be able to use them for my own show when I return in August. (the date is yet TBC). Of course, if you’d prefer a refund, you are entitled to that and April Hoy, the event producer, will be able to help you out. But I really encourage you to participate. You’ll get two shows for the price of one!
Those of you who have purchased tickets to my scheduled workshop on Sunday may like to hold on to them for my return. I’ll have dates sorted out ASAP. Of course, though, you are entitled to a refund.
Once again, I’m so sorry to have let everyone down. Damn bureaucracy!
