Hello friends, Creatives & lovelies!
The year 2011 is starting off with a bang and I hope you can participate in some of the fun! Here's the rundown for the month of January!
This coming Tuesday, January 4th, I have been invited as the featured artist for Eric Matelsky's Denver Art Talk at The Crossroads Theatre. I hope you can join me for this event! See the flyer below for more details.
Then, work continues on the development of the costume entry for the World of Wearable Art competition! I have entered my team into this competition, which includes my studio mate Jennifer Mosquera who will be painting fabric and helping me brainstorm wild ideas, my good friend Deborah Reams who will be helping me with the sewing and my other good friend Michael Provines who will be helping me create some steampunk style gearworks for the moving parts of this elaborate creation. I have entered into the Man Unleashed Section where the theme is Re-Invent Or Re-Dress The Groom. I have also submitted this entry for the Sustainability section of this competition which requires that the full costume be made with at least 85% recycled or reused materials. I'm shooting for 95%! I am planning some stellar details for this wildly, over the top creation. There will be a sneak preview in the month of April, so stay tuned for details!
Next, there are sewing classes starting this month...quite a few of them. I have implemented registration deadlines for classes, so if you are interested in getting in on some of these classes please go to my registration page and register now! Don't wait! :-) Here is the link for my calendar of classes: http://www.aprilenchanted.com/Classes.html
The Art Salon where I am located will be re-starting our Friday Creative Happy Hour event: Macaroni Madness on January 14th (2nd Friday). BYOB and we will lay out the crafts, paints, dyed macaroni, glue and whatever madness we can muster for a really fun social gathering. Come and make silly art with us and meet some new people! It's a great time for all! 5-8pm every Friday.
The Lynn Baker Jazz Quartet will be performing at The Art Salon this month as well! I don't have the details about that event quite yet, but I will be sending them out soon.
We are working on the calendar of ALL the classes being offered at The Art Salon. If you are interested in knitting, crochet, art classes, etc....go to this link for it all!

NOTE: I will also be traveling to California for 2 weeks this January to visit my Grandmother, so if you have any pressing issues give me a call or send me an email. I will be returning on January 20th.
We have some really fun things planned for the month of February too. Think VD:VD Valentines Day & Voodoo Dolls! Stay tuned for details!
I hope that your holiday season has been filled with good times & merriment! May 2011 bring lots of wonderful things for you!
